NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Differentiation in organizational offerings comes from the ability of the organization to design and implement new products continuously that meet the expected and implied needs of the Customer. Unlike the operational activities in an Organization that are repetitive in nature, New Product Development is more complex and has multi disciplinary involvement.

Worldwide, most Engineering Organizations have experienced phenomenally long lead time in introducing new products or 'first time right' products. This has led to customer dissatisfaction and loss of confidence in the Organization. Also, it adversely impacts the Return on Investment of the Organization. With the reduction in the life cycle of products in the modern era, it is all the more important to introduce new product with a very short lead time. The revenue growth of an organization to a large extent depends on the ability of the Organization to bring in new product for the Customer. Hence the new product introduction system is a very critical requirement for an organization to attain a leadership position; for example, Honda Corporation virtually won the market leadership position in Motor Bikes by introducing 75 new models within 1 year.

The designer's productivity requires competency building in the area of 'Simultaneous Engineering' and techniques which helps to reduce the new product introduction lead time. The Automobile industries achieved perfection in 'first time right' new motor cars by application of Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) techniques prescribed by TS16949 Standard. These techniques are equally applicable to any other engineering as well as service company.

Six Sigma Alchemy (P) Ltd (SSA) is specialized in various tools and techniques such as:

Simultaneous Engineering

Design For Six Sigma (DFSS)
Quality Function Deployment (QFD)
Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)
Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
Design of Experiment (DOE)- Traditional method
Design of Experiment (DOE)- Taguchi Method
Control Plan and many others.
